BELLY AND THE BEAT PART TWO – Part two of “Belly and the Beat”, this installment features more hip movements and shimmies to an exhilarating drum beat, and slow and smooth moves to famous pop tunes.
DANCE AERO – A cardio workout filled with movements from different dance genre, like: latin, hiphop, jazz, funk and much more! Dance styles rolled into one symmetrically designed block.
HIPHOP LATIN – In this workout, you do HipHop in your own style, with whatever energetic moves you have; just give your best with a combination of Latin. The Latin style shows off your hip waves and shakes; so when you do the HipHop Latin combination, it oozes with energetic sexy moves with high impact and confidence. This combination can easily be part of any dance exercise you lead.
HOW TO PROPERLY USE GYM EQUIPMENT BY ENSAYO – This presentation will discuss the following: identify the name & brand of the equipment; identify the purpose of the equipment; check for the safety of the equipment; use of the equipment; identifying workout objectives in relation to equipment choices; cardio equipment; athletic training equipment; injury prevention use of an exercise equipment; and rehab exercise use of equipment.
MORE CORE…FOR LESS – Learn more of the bases of, and rationale for, core training. Review the anatomy and kinesiology of the inner and outer units of the core; as well as principles of assessment and exercise prescription. It is hoped that this topic will shed light on the “core training” catchphrase and de-mystify issues surrounding it.
PREDICTING FACTORS OF SPORTS PERFORMANCE: THE ATHLETIC FORM – Let’s discuss the differences in morphology in athletes across different sports and how body morphology affects performance. Then go on to explore physiologic requirements needed by athletes to improve performance.
BERCADES, LUIGI - Mr. Bercades completed his MS in PE (with a major in exercise physiology and a minor in fitness management) at the University of Oregon, Eugene, OR, USA. He has had local and international research experience in fitness-related topics as well as elite sports. He has trained and coached athletes in the US, the UK and the Philippines. He has worked with clients and athletes of different abilities, from children and senior citizens to national and professional athletes. He is presently teaching PE and training varsity athletes at the University of Asia and the Pacific. He is also the head strength and conditioning coach of the UP Pep Squad and the National Shooting Team.
DOCTO, JULES – has been a dancer since 2004, a member of Dance Masters. He used to teach HipHop, Retro, Hip hop Latin, etc. at Rockwell, BDO Makati, and Slimmers World Makati. He is presently a Choreographer of the KIN YANG ACADEMY in Cavite, and is a talent of GMA 7 and ABS-CBN.
GUIAP, EMAY – She is the Ms. Boracay 2009 Champion, Ms. Philippines 2009 2nd Placer, Ensayo Bodybuilding Classic 2008 4th Placer and the PFBB 2008 National Championships 4th Placer.
MAGTIBAY, MA.TERESA – Gemma is a graduate of Pre-Med BS Biology at the University of the Philippines, Diliman Quezon City and finished her degree, Doctor of Medicine at the UERMMMC. Diplomate and Fellow of the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) and the Philippine College of Chest Physicians (PCCP), she is currently Chairman of the subcommittee on Physical Fitness of the Tobacco Council of the PCCP. ACE-Certified as a Group Fitness Instructor, she is also a Belly dance Instructor at Gold’s Gym Galleria and The Dance Department, Libis. Gemma has performed all over the Philippines for various events, appeared in TV Shows like Unang Hirit, Eat Bulaga and True Stories with Loren Legarda at ABC 5. She has attended belly dance workshops with Ms. Pacita Prasarn from the USA. She joined numerous workshops, the most recent of which was last Feb 2009 in Beijing China with master instructors Jillina and Kaeshi of the Bellydance Superstars.
PARAS, DONNA – Founding director and former President of the Fitness Network Philippines, Donna is the current Vice-President of our association. She owns and manages A.M. Paras Health Club in Angeles City, Pampanga. Donna is certified in Yoga Fundamentals and Pilates (SCW-EDU), and Resist-A-Ball Level 2.
REYES, JOSEPHINE JOY - is presently the Chair of the Sports Science Department of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Santo Tomas. Concurrently, she holds a consultancy position as Head of the Sports Physiology Unit of the Philippine Center for Sports Medicine-Philippine Sports Commission (PCSM-PSC); and is a Researcher of the Center for Research on Movement Science at the University of Santo Tomas. Formerly, she was the Program Director of the Loyola Schools Physical Education Program at the Ateneo de Manila University. She finished her Masters in Physical Education at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. It is also in the same University where she acquired her Bachelors degree in Physical Education and Certificate in Sports.
TERNIDA, RODERICK “JERIC” – The lone Filipino to win an overall title in a World Bodybuilding Competition (2008 Muscle Mania Universe Middle Weight Champion and Over-all Champion, the most prestigious natural bodybuilding competition in the world in June 20-21, Miami, Florida). First Filipino World Champion in the sport of Bodybuilding (2003 Muscle Mania World Lightweight Champion, November 15, Redondo Beach, California). Among his many titles are his being the: Six-time Division International and World Champion, six-time Mr. Philippines Champion and 2009 Philippine Sportswriters Association Awardee –citation in Bodybuilding.
TSAI, NICKY- He is a three-time Mr. Filipino-Chinese Bodybuilding Champion, and National Novice Record Holder in Power Lifting. Nicky is the owner of Ensayo Gym Equipment. Head Judge-Philippine Sports Commission in Bodybuilding, Technical Director-23rd South East Asian Bodybuilding Games Manila, Business Graduate, Major in Economics, and holds certification in Athletic Training Seminars.
