The rise of the fitness and bodybuilding movement has propelled Olympia Weekend to international acclaim, earning its reputation as the “Super Bowl” of the fitness industry. As the iconic event returns to Las Vegas this October, city officials have officially recognized the strong connection between the Las Vegas Strip and this global fitness phenomenon, widely known as The Olympia.

On June 27th, during a special ceremony at Resorts World Las Vegas, Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom declared the day as “Olympia Day” on the Las Vegas Strip. The event brought together influential leaders, fitness icons, and select media for an exclusive celebration of The Olympia’s legacy.

Olympia owner Jake Wood and President Dan Solomon were on hand for the declaration. Reflecting on the moment, Solomon said, “This year marks the 24th time the Olympia has been held in Las Vegas. Our bond with this city is extraordinary, and our partnership with Resorts World is driving new opportunities for growth and enhancing the fan experience. To receive this honor in the Entertainment Capital of the World surpasses anything we could have imagined.”

Founded in 1965 by bodybuilding pioneer Joe Weider, Olympia Weekend has evolved into a global celebration of health, strength, nutrition, and fitness. The event features the world championships of bodybuilding, attracting enthusiasts and top brands from across the globe. Over the years, The Olympia has become a magnet for high-profile celebrities and influencers.

Ronn Nicolli, Chief Marketing Officer at Resorts World Las Vegas, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration: “I hope this partnership continues for many years to come.” The festivities concluded with a high-energy “Road to the Olympia” launch party at the renowned Zouk Nightclub.

The 60th edition of Olympia Weekend is set to take place at Resorts World Las Vegas this October, with the 2-day Olympia Expo scheduled at the Las Vegas Convention Center on October 11-12. This milestone event is also the focus of an upcoming documentary set to premiere in 2025. For more information, visit MrOlympia.com.
